Cuyp Prints on Canvas (Giclees)
Cuyp, Aelbert Jacobszoon (1620-1691), Dutch painter, born in Dordrecht, son and probably student of the portrait painter Jacob Gerritsz Cuyp. Although Cuyp (or Cuijp) painted still life, portraits, and interiors on canvas, his most characteristic work is devoted to bucolic and outdoor scenes. His paintings on canvas are characterized by warmth of color, harmonious blending of light and shade, and a quality of serenity that seems to leave his subjects timeless and ageless.
